PRO: WA Trade Sample Updates (4/26/2025)
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board has amended the cannabis samples rule at WAC 314-55-096 to simplify application, ease understanding, and relax requirements for cannabis licensees. This new ruling is effective starting April 26, 2025.
Below is an overview of the minor changes you'll see within your Cultivera system, as well as the labels generated from Cultivera.
Cultivera Label Updates
All Cultivera-generated product labels will be updated to show the verbiage "TRADE SAMPLE – NOT FOR RESALE OR DONATION" (as required by this new ruling). Below is an example of the updated verbiage that you'll see on your labels starting 4/26/25:
The template designs will change to accommodate this updated verbiage, which may include re-positioning and/or font size reduction. Please note, you may see some of these resizing updates already on your labels, however, the "TRADE SAMPLE – NOT FOR RESALE OR DONATION" verbiage update will not take place until April 26, 2025.
Please verify the label updates do not create any readability issues when printed out, overlapping/cutoff text, etc. If you run into any of these issues, please contact support@cultivera.com as soon as possible for further assistance.
Sales > Cart Update
The 'Mark Vendor Sample' and 'Mark Educational Sample' buttons have been replaced with a 'Mark Trade Sample' button on the Sales > Cart > Cart Details page.
